How long are sessions and how often do we meet?
Sessions are 50 minutes in length and take place one time per week. If you are in crisis, I might recommend meeting 2 times per week. I do not do sessions every other week unless we are winding down treatment.
How much is the session fee?
Sessions are $220 per session.
Do you offer sliding scale?
I offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments. I am happy to discuss the possibility of a reduced fee by phone.
Do you bill insurance?
I am not on any insurance panels and do not bill insurance directly. However, if you have PPO insurance, I am happy to provide a monthly Superbill, a statement with all the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance company.
Will my insurance reimburse me?
I encourage you to contact your insurance company in advance of booking an appointment to see if they reimburse for out-of-network providers. Often you have to meet an out-of-network deductible prior to getting reimbursement. Keep in mind that if you submit Superbills prior to meeting your deductible, a percentage of the fee will go towards your deductible. In addition, your insurance company may ask you for a CPT code. The code used for an individual session is 90834. Here are some questions that would be helpful to ask your insurance company:
How will I pay you?
You may pay me with cash, check, and most major credit cards. I also accept electronic payments. I customarily bill after each session, but I can also bill you at the end of the month if we make prior arrangements,
If we are doing virtual sessions, what platform do you use?
I use Doxy.me, a HIPAA compliant platform frequently used by professionals in the health care industry. Prior to your first session, you will receive an email with paperwork for you to fill out as well the link to my virtual waiting room on Doxy.me.
How long will I be in therapy?
This is a great question and a difficult one to answer in advance. The answer depends upon your individual needs and goals. Some people require only a few months of sessions to address their concerns. While others may find long-term therapy spanning a year or more to be more helpful.
